It’s true that I do not create copious amounts of content. I rarely post, blog or vlog. You can blame my Gen X age block. For me, the world is bigger than a computer screen and I abhor the undercurrent of narcissism that is intrinsic when inserting oneself into the InterWebs. Yet, I realize that sometimes it appears that I am hiding my opinions and observations which is not necessarily a good thing.
I will not write when I am downhearted or angry beyond belief (at least, I won’t publish my ravings.) That’s not the kind of energy I want to radiate into the universe nor mirror for other people. Today, it’s more than possible to rant and complain about an obscene amount of issues, topics and individuals, however it is also true that good and powerful changes are occurring concurrently. Across the globe, impactful improvements are being made. Seeds have and are continuing to be planted. Resilient and community-minded businesses and industries are being created. Big bad boogeymen, the heads of the Hydra, are not as vague and anonymous as they once were. The veil is dropping.
Everyday, I try to read about positive actions being made around the world and here in America. Discoveries, statistics, and feel-good puff pieces which shine a light on lesser-known heroes. Do I spend time learning about the stuff that is still wrong and harmful to our future? Yes. But, I encourage you to see that opposite events are also happening. Most of what I wanted to say to the world was in EAT THE MOON. With my second novel, SWALLOW THE SUN, I am giving voice to more that I want to share. There is darkness but there is also light. Life is complex. I have made myself insane with superforecasting timelines and possibilities, and have found much peace with a naive faith that a healthy balance will eventually come after the chaos.
Thank you for doing what you are doing, dreaming what you are dreaming and learning what you are learning. Unless of course, you have been a selfish, arrogant, thoughtless arsehole, to which I say, “Stop it.” Now, go out and do something positive to counteract the negative. Por favor y gracias.
