Experience has shown me over the past few years that if I share content on social media related to climate change, that I will get mostly zero responses (no comments, no likes and no shares). Is this the product of grotesque disinterest or an algorithmic silencing, I’ve never known. But that doesn’t stop me from occasionally screaming out into the void.
Maybe you have never read one of the previous intergovernmental climate reports. Maybe you were busy, or bored, or overwhelmed. Personally, I prefer summaries since the full reports are too much to consume for a layperson. Now may be a time to check out older reports since anything new may be gravely lacking (maybe use a search engine like Duck Duck Go).
I have oodles of notes and information on the history of the Heritage Foundation. Cliffnote version- it’s a think tank funded by billionaire fossil fuel magnates.
I apologize to the world that I didn’t get much MUCH louder EARLIER. My initial impulses were majorly wrathful and I needed a cooling off period before I did anything rash. I still have faith that we will make progress even against powerful people who do not practice love for the welfare of all. Regardless of what one “believes”, the coming consequences will be experienced by all.
God have mercy.
