I don’t know how to start this introduction except to say, “I am many, many things with a whole lot of adjectives.”
For starters, I’m a Mother, a Wife, and a Naprapath which is a complementary-medicine physician specializing in neuromusculoskeletal/connective tissues and natural pain relief. (Picture a masseuse, a chiropractor, a naturopath and a physical therapist all in one).
I’m also a climate change activist, an old punk, a new hippie, a Reiki master, a freakish bookworm, a gardener, a chef, a dancer, and occasionally, a fuck-up. I’m a blend of generosity and selfishness, intelligence and stupidity, positivity and negativity. I’ve lived in small towns and metropolises, rural, suburban and urban. I’ve known rich and poor, and have experienced states of each. At 50 years old, I stand mid-way between newborns and centenaries.
I presume you are a composite of many things, too. Each of us is an individual, yet intricately related in ways that none of us will ever truly grasp. And, every single one of us is imperfectly perfect. Yes, we have flaws, we’ve “sinned”, yet all of us are worthy of dignity and respect.
I’ve come to realize that I love all of You.
At this extraordinary time in history, I felt called to “become the best version of me”, as spiritual author, Neale Donald Walsch, has written. After learning about the destabilization of the climate and the collapsing of ecosystems, along with the timeline of only five meager years in which to make significant changes, I wondered, “Why am I here?”, “What can I do?”, and “If not now, when?”
I put myself on the task of doing all that was in my power to bring about a more positive future. I combined my talents and imperfections, added knowledge from the past and the cutting-edge present, opened myself to divine wisdom and the advice of scientific experts, and topped it off with a willfully naive, child-like faith that, this time, it would work.
So now, I’m also an Author.
But the book, “EAT THE MOON: A CLIMATIC LOVE STORY TO SAVE THE WORLD” and the other books/videos/podcasts to come, are merely “a means of attracting eyes in an overly-saturated social media realm”.
What I hope to see is the development of discussion, and more importantly, actions that will help humanity veer away from dystopia and towards a future worthy of our souls.
I look forward to working with you, listening to you, learning from you, being helpful to you. May good fortune be yours in the Universe. Fingers crossed. Blessed be. #BringUsBackFromTheBrink
