Inexorably, like a glacier carving a valley out of a mountain, I am moving forward with my next novel, ‘SWALLOW THE SUN: A CLIMATIC LOVE STORY TO SAVE THE WORLD’. I have constructed the foundation and bones and have been adding texture, nuance and dimension, deepening the story and making it come to life. Currently, I’m in the stage of deciding what little, specific details to sprinkle throughout the story, tidbits of science, solutions and philosophy like the decorations on a cake or a Christmas tree.
For this stage, I am reading and re-reading a lot of non-fiction. In the past twenty-four hours, I’ve come across an article, a research paper and a book collecting dust on my nightstand that I’m finding to be fascinating and hopefully, helpful. I have not yet finished reading and digesting them and I’m not yet certain how I will incorporate the messages into the prose, or if I will.
